The Last Post On October

BEST FRIEND JAMES

AH-HA!

The last post of this month! I've had two Andy strips printed in a row and things are looking good! I've had to start inking them again, as I don't have any saved up any more. Whatever! No big deal.

Comixtravaganza is coming up (or perhaps not, I hear) and I'm starting to think about my submission for it and I've got something fun in store... of course, this is all assuming I can get it done on time.

The strip I've posted tonight might be printed at the end of this week, that is, if seniority and space allow.

I'm starting to realize that "Andy The [Retard]" might get cut off at an awkward point in the slight continuity. To avoid things like this happening, as advised by a mister Joe Bevill, I'm trying to set up each strip as if it could be the first strip that any given reader would see. I mean, doing things like mentioning the character's names, having characters talk about the situations at hand and not having a fully running continuity (nothing like TUNE IN NEXT WEEK!)...

That's that... OH! and also, no more music videos! I promise! This ain't the place for that. If you want music videos, go browse YouTube.

Erik In Outer Space

Howdy!

For my script in Kneece's class, I decided to illustrate some of the more majorr characters instead of describing them with lame words like "tall" and "eyes."

The script is about the second character in my canon, Erik, from "The Adventures Of Space Captain General Erik in Outer Space." The first script I wrote (which should be available in a mini comic sometime next year) was not too fitting for the assignment, so I wrote a saner sequel, which is what the illustrations are for.

The first is Erik, the hero of the series. The second is a Shrimpolon, native to Shrimpola 4. The third is an evil Quibleenian. These are the bad guys!

Yeah, the Quibleenian looks like Zorak. It was based off Zorak and a Skeksis from Dark Crystal. That's right, cuz Zorak is the best space villain ever. He's a great combination of evil and cool looking.

More from them later. That's it for now! Next time, we'll have contour line drawings or a strip!

New District, NEW ADVENTURES OF ANDY THE RETARD!

So I'm pretty psyched that Andy made it into The District. Now I just aims to keep him there for a while.

Once again, I had to change the name of the strip, from "Andy The Rertard" to "Andy The" by dropping the "Retard." I finished off a couple of new strips for this and next week's submissions and have two more waiting to be inked! Awesome!

Here's a new strip, number two in the "continuity," it's called

FAT KEVIN
I'm currently in Atlanta! I always like hanging out here. I got to see Hutch and Paige in their new apartment and have Dreamland BBQ, which is delicious. Me and Bailey visited SCAD Atlanta too... Let's just say going to SCAD in Savannah was a good choice!!

The District is way better than The Connector too... and I'm the reason why.

Writing, Larison the 2nd, Atlanta and Morrissey

Woo-ha!

Yesterday I was so tired! I'd been up until about 4 doing an ink wash for Larison's class. It turned out to be a pretty successful drawing, I think. I feel very confident within my cartooning style, but I'd like to do more things, still in a cartooning style, but branch out a little bit. I've had a pretty good idea, but I don't know if it'll fly for projects...

Some real progress is being made (as always) with Andy strips. I have two more inked and ready to scan and letter, two penciled and ready to be inked, and about 10 written and ready to be penciled. I think I need to stop focusing on writing for the time being and focus more on drawing the damn things... This weekend I'll try and work on them some more if I get time.

In fact, I just noticed a pretty bad mistake on one of them. God! I love Photoshop!

Tomorrow I set out for Atlanta! It should be nice to get away for the weekend. There's a very relaxed atmosphere that comes with being at Bailey's parents house. Also, I might hit a few CD Warehouses.

And last but not least, here is a new song by Morrissey. It's a good 'un too.!

New District, no Andy...

Things look bleak for Andy...
I changed the name of the strip and it still doesn't get printed. Joe says it has something to do with seniority... But I dunno. I can't help but be bummed out about it.

Still, I'm going to keep making new strips and keep posting here.

Just be patient, I guess and wait for it... But yeah, if you know the people at the District, put in the good word for me. I mean, since right now, if you're reading this, you're probably a die-hard Andy fan, right?

Right? Well, whatever. Here's the very first Andy strip which was supposed to appear in the District. It's entitled:

FIRST DAY AFTER THE RESTART
And that's that! Keep checkin' that District and keep rootin' for the Retard!

If I Don't Live Today, I Might Be Here Tomorrow

Something I didn't mention in my first post is that I will totally post music and videos here as I see fit. Obviously, I won't post things without reason. For example, I'm posting this video today because the song has been stuck in my head for the majority of this week.

SO here it is, Mando Diao's "If I Don't Live Today, I Might Be Here Tomorrow"

Finished another strip for the District. This one will appear as #2 and it introduces a character called "Fat Kevin" to the fray. I'll start posting the strips as they appear in the District, so that means the first strip will appear next week...

I've been busy writing strips and I have now written enough for the rest of the quarter... perhaps even longer! Expect lots of T&A (or not)!!

LARISON!!

LARISON!! Once again your homework loses me some sleep that I could be sleeping as I type this blog instead of sleeping like I wish I was sleeping because I get so tired sometimes when the math professor goes on and on and on and LARISON!!

What was I saying? Oh yeah, something about... kittens?

Here's a picture.

This one was for Larison's last project. It's a detective scene with textures and boy do I hate those. I had to be separated from my beloved spot blacks for a whole week or two!! This scene has El Kabong!

THE END!

Greetings, Bloggernoids!

Wow! This is exciting! You're reading the very first post on my blog!
...Well, I hope you're reading it... (If you came here just to look at the pictures, then shame on you!)

So yeah, I got this thing after a little persuasion from fellow JAM members, Amy and Joe (I forget which is which letter...), at our little weekly get-together/meeting/work session/steamy date.

Basically I'm gonna be posting strips from my "Andy The" strip, which will soon appear in the District (fingers crossed!). When proposing the idea, the title "Andy The Retard" wasn't acceptable, because it says "Retard" too many times, so I simply dropped the word. Two out of three isn't bad.

... That was a tangent... now what was I saying? Oh yeah, I'll be posting comic strips and any other work I might do, whether it's sketches, pencils, old stuff... basically whatever I find that I think is of some value to me, or otherwise. Also, I might post work by other artists if the mood strikes me.

Also I will pimp my new mini comics...

RIGHT NOW!!

These babies are on sale now at "Silly Mad CDs," my favorite used CD store, located on Hodgson Memorial and Eisenhower. The big one is $2 and the little one is $1.50, both of them together will cost you $3. What a BARGAIN* *whilesupplieslast!! If you're a true Andy fan (or were in my Intro class) you'll probably already own some of the content, but there's plenty of previously unpublished stuff in there too... So yeah, buy them.

That's it. Now I'm going to go sleep, as I have to get up tomorrow for breakfast with Mayya.

Bye!
